Find Your Hat Size | Mister Miller Sizing Guide
How to measure your head properly for the perfect fitting Bakerboy or cap
Buying a hat online can feel surprisingly personal.
Unlike most clothing, the fit sits directly around the face, which means the right size changes not only comfort, but the entire silhouette of the hat itself.
The good news is that measuring properly takes less than a minute.
And once you know your size, it becomes remarkably easy to wear hats confidently across different styles and seasons.
How to measure your head
The easiest way to measure your hat size is with a soft tape measure.
Place the tape approximately:
- 1cm above the ears
- across the middle of the forehead
- where the hat would naturally sit
The tape should feel:
- snug
- but not tight
You’re looking for your natural head measurement rather than pulling firmly.
If you don’t have a tape measure, a piece of string and a ruler works perfectly well too.
Understanding Hat Sizing
Hat sizing can appear confusing because different countries use different systems.
At Mister Miller, we primarily use centimetres because it’s the most accurate and universal method.

Between sizes?
If you sit between sizes, we generally recommend sizing slightly upwards rather than down. A Bakerboy should feel secure and comfortable without pressure across the forehead.
Oversized Bakerboys in particular are designed to drape naturally and soften around the silhouette rather than fit rigidly.
That relaxed structure is part of what makes them feel so wearable.
Common time First Worries
What if hats don’t suit me?
Most people who say this have simply never worn the correct shape or proportion for their face.
The right Bakerboy should feel surprisingly natural once fitted correctly.
Often, the confidence comes afterwards.
Should a Bakerboy feel tight?
No.
A good fit should feel:
- comfortable
- lightly secure
- easy enough to wear for long periods without pressure
Do oversized Bakerboys fit differently?
Slightly.
The fuller crown creates a softer silhouette around the face, which many people actually find easier and more flattering to wear than sharper, narrower caps.
